Welcome! Interested in becoming an adventurer?
Before one’s fully initiated into the guild, the following requirements must be met before your application is approved! Failure in following the checklist below will result in a delay of your approval. Beginning adventure characters begin at Level (unless starting at higher levels, see section below.)
- Flavor is entirely free as long as it’s not changed mechanically.
- Stretching flavor is ill advised. Example: Human skinned Thri-keen, that appears to people as a human, rather than a bug.
No character rip-offs of current media. Please avoid using art of such characters, i.e. Alucard from Castlevania. They should be individually unique as adventurers to the world and not reskins.
- Throwing the canon art into the AI blender is fine, to make the design different. The character should not recognizable upon first glance when using the art.
- Having your character be inspired (whether it be by personality or appearance) by the canonical media is fine.
- OCs are fine, as long as they are in correspondent to the server lore.
For backstories, please have them in compliance with actual Forgotten Realms’ lore. Please do not puzzle piece them into the world, trying to make them fit, without taking time to read the lore.
- Avoid adding modern themes into your backstory such as mentions of IRL, real places, history that happened in our present-day timeline.
- You can find our lore information here: https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Main_Page.
When you finish a character sheet, post the sheet link to it in sheets on the discord and ping sheets. Please be aware we do not accept PDFs and only use DNDBeyond. All approved characters receive their guild badge and may begin roleplaying.
- If your selected race has a legacy version and a newer version of the race you must choose the most recent version. View the acceptable races here.
- No custom backgrounds unless using a background from 5e.tools
- All races1 can enable custom origin if they wish to enable their choice of ASI increases. Do not use ASI overrides.
- For Mountain Dwarves and Half Elf may distribute their two +2 stat bonuses into any stat they wish.
- For stat allocation, you may use either standard array or point buy for character creation. No rolling stats or HP maximum.
- Start with 1 free feat1. Variant Human and Custom Lineage get 2.
- You do not get this option if you choose a background that would give you a feat such as the Strixhaven Backgrounds or backgrounds in the newest content.
- Encumbrance and coin weight must be accounted for. Make sure this option is on.
Starting at Higher Levels
By the time a player reaches Level 3, a second slot is opened up, followed by a 3rd at Level 10. Each of these may start at the players choice of Levels 1-3. No character rip-offs of current media. Please avoid using art of such characters. They should be unique as adventurers to the world.
Upon death or retirement, the new character will start 1 Lv. lower than its predecessor. Refer to the template in sheets for what is needed.
- Please state whether the previous character died or retired,
- If a character dies at level 3 in any of the slots, the new character may start at level 3, unless stated otherwise to be lower.
In order to take a magic item that has a mundane equivalent you must be able to pay for the cost of the mundane equivalent from your starting gold.
- Example: Cast-off Studded Leather (45 gp mundane + 1210 gp uncommon rarity = 1255 gp total cost) will need to be minus-ed from players starting gold, if taking as wonderous item. Find the costs of wonderous rarity items here.
- If an item comes from the starting equipment, no mundane cost is needed and may satisfy the magical rarity (but must be stated in the message.)
- For starting items, players must state the items they purchase with starting gold and magical items

Footnotes
- The accepted material and various notes can be found within the Source Library.
- For 2nd and 3rd slot characters, starting downtime is Level * 5.
- These character levels may choose a lesser title upon creation. These can be something along the lines of “Forgotten Hero”, “Saver of Innocents”, and the like.
