Community Conduct

01Age MinimumMembers must be at least 18 years old.

All members must be at least 18 upon joining. This requirement took effect January 1, 2025. Underage members will be removed. Sessions may explore mature subjects and should carry relevant content disclaimers.

02Be RespectfulTreat fellow players and staff respectfully.

Respect others in and outside roleplay. Avoid divisive real-world topics, hate speech, and harmful language. Raise ongoing problems through a ticket. Do not privately contact moderators about unrelated issues. Dungeon Masters may remove disruptive players from their games.

03DramaKeep player drama to in character only.

In-character conflict is part of storytelling. Out-of-character disputes should be handled appropriately rather than escalating in public channels. For player grievances use Fight Club, otherwise open a ticket.

04Advertisements & SolicitingNo unsolicited promotions or direct messages.

Unsolicited promotion of servers, social accounts, products, or commissions is prohibited. Ask permission before sending direct messages. Report suspicious friend requests from unverified users to the Admin. Approved advertisements can be found in the partnership channel.

05AI ContentAI-generated roleplay is restricted.

AI must not be used to conduct roleplay. Character art references, background drafting, and name generation are listed exceptions.

06PoachingRecruiting or soliciting Ouroboros members for outside communities without authorization is strictly prohibited and is a bannable offense.

Poaching members from Ouroboros is strictly prohibited and is considered a bannable offense.

Poaching includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sending unsolicited private messages to recruit members into another D&D server, roleplaying community, or organization.
  • Using Ouroboros's member list, channels, or community resources to recruit members for outside communities.
  • Attempting to pressure or persuade members to leave Ouroboros to join another community.
  • Recruiting on behalf of another server through alternate accounts or third parties.
  • Repeatedly soliciting members to join outside communities without their consent.

Members are free to participate in other servers and communities. However, Ouroboros is not a recruitment platform for outside organizations. Any advertising, recruitment, or partnership activities must receive prior authorization from server administration.

Violations of this policy may result in an immediate and permanent ban from Ouroboros without prior warning. Server administration reserves the right to determine whether conduct constitutes poaching and to take disciplinary action accordingly.

07Server RatingMature storytelling does not permit NSFW content.

The setting may involve violence, discrimination, torture, and dark themes. NSFW content is prohibited. Communicate with the dungeon master if any of the session content is too painful or too graphic; DMs should provide advance warnings for potentially graphic material.

Characters & Progression

08CharactersUnlock up to three character slots.

The second slot unlocks at level 3 and the third at level 10. Character names must be unique. A player’s own characters may not interact with each other. Players with multiple characters should make room for newer players in sessions.

09Leveling UpProgression uses the server experience system.

The published page describes XP as character level × hours played × 75 and links an XP calculator. It also states that non-canon sessions use half the hours. Verify this wording against the current hours-tracking system before publication.

10Monthly XPEarn XP through qualifying text roleplay.

The published rules describe up to 10 hours per character per month, leaderboard prizes, and qualifying TRP quests. Review current TRP conversion rules and leaderboard procedures before publishing.

11Magic ItemsItem rarity determines the tier required to use it.

Common: T1 (levels 1–4). Uncommon: T2 (5–9). Rare: T3 (10–14). Very Rare and Legendary: T4 (15–20). Higher-rarity items can be owned but remain locked until the required tier. Artificer infusions made for personal use are exempt. Magic item crafting from sourcebooks is not permitted; items must be purchased.

Gameplay & Fair Play

12CheatingCheating may result in removal or character penalties.

An initial cheating offense receives a warning. Repeated violations may lead to removal from sessions, further sanctions, or forced character retirement.

Administration

13ActivityCreate a character and maintain active membership.

New members have 60 days to create a character. Members must renew adventuring status annually. The published page describes 12–16 weekly reminders and special activity requirements for Trial DMs and DMs.

14CommunicationReport issues promptly through the right channel.

Raise session-specific concerns with the relevant Dungeon Master. For server issues or player disputes, open a ticket. Admin has final decision-making authority.

15TicketsUse tickets for confidential moderation concerns.

Open a ticket in the designated ticket channel for server issues and disputes. Keep ticket discussions confidential. Private messages are not a substitute for the formal reporting process.

16WarningsRule violations are handled according to severity.

Breaking rules will be dealt with warnings based on severity. Acquiring too many warnings would impact a player who wishes to eventually become a Dungeon Master on the server, or a position higher than welcome team. Warnings will eventually be dropped after a certain period of time.

17Leaving the ServerLeaving generally resets character progression.

The published policy states that departing members lose progression and important roles, with rare exceptions determined case by case.
